White Ginger
We have many types of ginger at Koili Point and we continue to add more through organic growth.
As ginger plants create new 'runners', we spade them out of the ground and re-plant.
You will see a number of ginger groupings around the houses and we welcome you to pick some of the recent blooms and put them in a vase during your stay.
The picture here is a type of white ginger. With this latest addition, it now means that along the driveway, we have red, white and blue ginger plants. How cool is that!
Finally, I want to leave you with a Hawaiian Place Name and its translation. Today's place name is 'Awapuhi'. 'Awapuhi' means ginger in English and is a street name near Manoa in Honolulu.
Aloha!
