About Koili Point

KOILI POINT

Our Story

Koili Point began as a shared dream to restore a small piece of Hawaiʻi’s history and create a place where others could slow down, connect, and feel at home. When Len and his family first arrived, they didn’t see a polished property — they saw potential beneath ten-foot grass, crumbling stone, and the stories of the land itself. With time and care, that vision grew into what guests experience today: a welcoming coastal retreat surrounded by fruit trees, ocean views, and the quiet rhythm of the Hamakua Coast.

What sets Koili Point apart is the people behind it — hosts who love to share local stories, farm-grown fruit, and the spirit of aloha that shapes every stay. It’s a place built not for show, but for meaning. Every path, fence, and tree was placed with intention, turning this once-forgotten sugarcane field into a living story of renewal, community, and belonging. That same spirit continues through our farm and sustainability efforts, where every visit helps the land — and the legacy — grow a little stronger.

KOILI POINT

A Destination, Not Just a Stop

Koili Point sits in that rare spot between convenience and discovery — close enough to everything, yet calm enough to feel worlds away. Guests use it as their launchpad for exploring the Big Island’s best: morning drives to Volcano, afternoons at Akaka Falls, lazy lunches in Hilo, and unhurried evenings under starlit skies. It’s the kind of place that makes day trips easy and coming back even easier.

What began as a comfortable stop along the Hamakua Coast has grown into a destination all its own. The ocean views, the orchard paths, the warm connection with your hosts — they turn short stays into lasting memories. At Koili Point, your time on the island doesn’t start when you leave the property; it starts the moment you arrive.

Koili Point

Rooted in Sustainability

Every part of Koili Point was built with care for the ʻāina — the land that gives everything its life and meaning. What started as a restoration project has grown into a living example of sustainable island living. Solar energy powers each stay, rain nourishes pesticide-free crops, and local craftspeople have shaped the property by hand. Here, sustainability isn’t a feature — it’s the foundation. From the orchard to the ocean views, every choice reflects a commitment to leave this place better than we found it.
Plan your visit and see how sustainability shapes every stay at Koili Point.
