Hoʻolauleʻa Music Festival
On the 29th of January, the Ho'olaule'a Music Festival returned to Hilo after a three year hiatus. Almost two dozen local bands played throughout the night. And of course if you know Hilo, you know there was an incredible variety of 'ono (delicious) food available from vendors.
Everyone was commenting how good it was to see downtown Hilo crowded with families and visitors enjoying one of the largest music festivals in Hilo each year.
This staging of the Ho'olaule'a was the 27th time the Big Island hosted this event with more than 10,000 people enjoying the different genres of music and again, the food!
Some of the bands were Ho'aikane, The Steppas, Ekolu, Grass Fed Longhorns, Celler, Darlene Ahuna, Ledward Ka'apana playing a variety of music ranging from reggae to jazz.
Leaving you with the Hawaiian word of the Day: Hoʻolauleʻa which translates to celebration.
