Guests enjoy oceanfront views, a pool and hot tub, handcrafted furnishings, and solar-powered comfort  all surrounded by fruit trees and friendly sheep. It’s a rare place where you can relax in style while living gently on the land. As many guests say, “We came as visitors and left feeling like ohana.”

  • 3. How close is it to town, dining, and attractions?

    You’re just 7–10 minutes from Hilo, with easy access to local restaurants, farmers markets, and beaches. Koili Point is ideally positioned for exploring Volcano National Park, Mauna Kea, and waterfalls along the Hamakua Coast  yet far enough to feel completely secluded.

  • 4. Is the property family-friendly?

    Absolutely. Families make up a large part of our ohana. Kids love feeding the sheep, picking fruit, and splashing in the pool. Parents and grandparents appreciate the peaceful setting and space for everyone to unwind. We also provide a high chair and crib upon request.

  • 5. How many houses are on the property?

    There are two nearly identical homes separated by a double carport and tiki hut patio. Each home has its own private entrance and full amenities, and they share the pool and hot tub. Families often rent both for group stays. Privacy-conscious guests will find the layout spacious and respectful of personal space.

  • 6. What does “off-grid” mean? Will I have power and AC?

    Koili Point is 100% solar powered with a backup generator. You’ll enjoy air conditioning during daylight hours and gentle ocean breezes at night. The homes are designed to maximize natural airflow, with ceiling fans and large windows that keep things cool and comfortable.
